In the city of Berlin, 1932, our Fuhrer, Hitler is gracing the population with his presence by giving a speech in one of the main halls of Berlin. Posters are stuck all over, proclaiming the news to the eager German Nazis. However, tragically, these posters catch the eye of one betrayer to the German race; Hulga, a despicable Communist who sees the poster with only one thing in mind – MURDER!

Gathering together her seedy Communist friends, Hulga persuades them to join her in a dastardly plot to blow up the hall where Hitler is giving up his speech. They agree readily and it seems like hope is lost for our Fuhrer – but no! A young Nazi Youth, Hanz, overhears the treachery of Hulga and knows at once that he must do something to save Hitler. Terrified of what he knows the Communists are capable of, yet at the same time knowing that, at this moment in time, his country is counting on him, young Hanz runs home to tell his father about the plot. Dismayed to find his father absent, Hanz takes upon himself to shoulder the burden of duty. Retrieving his father’s gun, Hanz squares himself and sets out to do his deed.

The Communists, meanwhile, have set up their equipment in an antechamber in the hall and are on the brink of destroying all Germany’s dreams with the push of a button. As one Communist counts down the seconds with his fingers, Hanz is steeling himself outside the door, unaware that the future of his fatherland hangs in the balance as he waits.

In the nick of time, brave Hanz pushes open the door and stops the Communists just as they are about to perpetrate their despicable act. He keeps them at gun point, never letting them out his eye-sight, but someone is missing – the biggest criminal of all, Hulga, has left the room and is waiting outside the door. Slyly, she eases open the door and plans to shoot Hanz in the back, but his finely tuned ear catches the click of her gun and he swings round to meet her just in time.

As the screen turns blank, we are left in horrified anticipation – who shot who? Could Hanz be dead? But we are pulled back from these questions by the image of a collapsed Hulga, slumped across the stairs, dead. Blinking, Hanz wakes up to find the face of Hitler staring down upon him. Unsure of whether he has died and gone to heaven or, hope against hope, he has indeed survived to tell his tale, Hanz looks slowly around him. His wildest dreams are achieved when he sees the smiling faces of Hitler’s guards and his parents – he is alive and a hero! Germany has been saved, by a youth believing in his Fuhrer and using his strength, determination and innate bravery to push him on in areas where most others would have turned and fled.
